Shockwave Therapy Treatment

What Is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-intensity acoustic shock waves to promote healing in specific tissues. It can be effective for injuries that have not responded to other treatments and helps break up scar tissue, improve microcirculation, and boost local metabolism.

Shockwave therapy is administered to a tendon or muscle through the skin with a small, handheld device that’s similar to an ultrasound wand.

Shockwave can help with:

  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Patellar tendinopathy
  • Golfer’s elbow
  • Heel spurs
  • Bursitis
  • Shoulder calcific tendonosis
  • Shin splints
  • Stress fracture
